VASILY CHERNETSOV: "MARKET SITUATION SHOULD STABILIZE UNLESS THERE IS A SECOND CORONAVIRUS WAVE" (VIDEO)

Metal Supply and Sales is the major Russian magazine and website about metallurgy and metal processing. Earlier this week they did a video interview with OrelMetallPolymer's Director of Development, Vasily Chernetsov, to enquire about the company's operations during Covid-19 pandemic and management's outlook for the future.

In the interview, Mr. Chernetsov reported that the production load in March and April remained at the same level of around 2,900 ton of coated metal per month despite the pandemic restrictions implemented in Russia. This was due to the large orders of PPGI intended for construction of new infectious hospitals and vital objects of transport infrastructure in Moscow region that enabled to keep the facility in operation. At the same time, OrelMetallPolymer strictly followed regulations of federal government and local administration aimed at prevention of the spread of coronavirus: office employees were switched to remote work, while production staff were working in shifts wearing facemasks and observing the norms of social distancing.

At the moment the company continues to fulfill incoming orders. As for the management expectations for 2020, Mr. Chernetsov considers that the market should stabilize in the coming few months unless there is a second wave of coronavirus cases in Russia.

Meanwhile, OrelMetallPolymer are looking to further extend their product range: they are considering, on the one hand, expanding supplier pool for special purpose coatings, and on the other hand, developing Printech technology for woodgrain patterns.
